April Wild: Building Purpose-Led Spaces Where Women Rise Together

April Wild is the founder of WILD & WILD, a women’s empowerment and wellness community that began in 2018 as a small, intimate wellness space and has since grown into a nationwide movement across the UK. What started as a simple idea to bring women together has evolved into a powerful platform offering monthly events, retreats, festivals, leadership experiences, and business-focused gatherings for women. Through WILD & WILD, April works closely with female founders, leaders, and brands to create experiences that support confidence, connection, and long-term success.

A defining moment in April’s journey came in 2022, when she experienced profound personal loss, including the passing of her mother, Dr Dawn Gibbins MBE. This period of grief became a turning point, calling her to transform WILD & WILD into something with deeper meaning and purpose. Rather than simply being a networking or wellness brand, the community became a space where women could feel truly supported, seen, and encouraged to grow both personally and professionally. Under her leadership, WILD & WILD has received several awards, including “Most Engaged Community” at The Waldorf Hotel in London and “Health and Wellness Business of the Year” at the EVA Awards.

“I want to be remembered as someone who helped women believe in themselves again and dared to build community over competition.”

To April, leadership today is not about status or authority, but about service. She believes strong leadership means holding space for others, helping people rise, and creating environments where women feel safe enough to be both ambitious and authentic. Her understanding of leadership was shaped early in life by her parents, who scaled their family business, Flowcrete, to over 30 countries worldwide. Her mother was one of the first female leaders in British manufacturing during the 1990s and taught April that true leadership is rooted in purpose, courage, and authenticity. April strongly believes that hustle culture is fading, making way for a more balanced, human-centered approach to success.

Looking toward 2026 and beyond, April sees women redefining leadership through empathy, collaboration, and wellbeing. She believes sustainable success comes from alignment rather than constant pressure, and from community rather than competition. This belief is reflected in her work, as she is often invited into corporate spaces to deliver mindset workshops that help teams shift how they think about performance, connection, and leadership.

One of the key changes April has brought to her industry is the shift from transactional networking to transformational experiences. WILD & WILD events focus on genuine connection, nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and personal growth, alongside business strategy. April has seen first-hand how women perform better, collaborate more, and build stronger businesses when they feel supported and inspired. She often says that the difference can only truly be understood by experiencing the space itself.

“True success comes when ambition and wellbeing exist side by side, not in competition with each other.”

Like many women leaders, April has faced challenges around self-doubt and the pressure to prove credibility in traditional business environments. She overcame these challenges by staying deeply connected to her purpose, trusting her intuition, and building a strong, supportive community. Personal loss also shaped her resilience, teaching her that life is fragile and that it is important to act boldly without worrying too much about external judgment.

During times of change or uncertainty, April leads with transparency, emotional support, and a clear sense of vision. She keeps her team connected to the purpose behind their work: helping women thrive in life and business. She prioritises wellbeing, open communication, and continuous learning, openly sharing that she is always developing her own leadership skills, including learning from experts featured on the WILD & WILD Podcast.

April believes the future of leadership depends on emotional intelligence, strong communication, patience, and community-led thinking. She does not see business goals and wellbeing as separate, but as deeply connected. For her, a strong culture drives better outcomes, creativity, and confidence. Inclusivity is also central to her values, with WILD & WILD bringing together women from different backgrounds, industries, and life stages. Becoming a parent to a child with cerebral palsy has further deepened her commitment to creating more accessible and disability-safe spaces.

April’s greatest inspiration remains her mother, whose motto, “Dare to be different,” continues to guide her work. Looking ahead, April hopes to expand WILD & WILD internationally and impact millions of women globally. She wishes to be remembered as a leader who helped women believe in themselves again, built community over competition, and created spaces where women could live boldly, authentically, and without limits.

“Leadership is not about status, it is about service. When women feel seen and supported, they rise naturally.”
